The library has been refurbished and the non-fiction has been categorised using themes, e.g. Travellers' tales, rather than a formal classification.  Old and out of date reference stock has been taken away and there has been an increase in the number of public computers, which gives access to up-to-date reference material.
There is a range of facilities to assist people in selecting books.  In addition, requests are free for books available in other libraries within the Borough, so that everyone has access to the whole stock however big their local library is, and they do not have to pay a request fee to acquire them.
